Meet the Team
Bob Marthai The dreamer, architect and builder of Uhuburg and founder of Uhuburg Institute, Bob brought his vision of an educational castle in the mountains of North Georgia to fruition from 2007 to 2023. Bob built Uhuburg to share what he has found to be important for the good life. Bob is an ex-psychologist, retired tall ship captain, naval architect, and lover of dance. Join his Day Visit guided tour for the full story!
Naomi Marthai Admin Assistant to Bob and wearer of many hats, Naomi manages many of the day to day castle affairs, web/social media, and oversees the gardens. Naomi was previously an 8th grade science teacher for 11 years up in Maine, and she loves all kinds of dance from contra to bachata. A family operation, she is one of Bob & Janine's daughters.
We are grateful for the more than 80 workers, volunteers, trade folks, donors and inspectors who helped build Uhuburg from foundation to tower.
